| NIDEC Nemicon Corporation(5-29-20 Shiba, Minato-ku,
Tokyo, president Mr. Yoji Shimada), a leading manufacturer of a
rotary encoder, has been dedicated in rotary encoders and magnetic
sensors for industrial machinery like machine tool or other automatic
machines, as a subsidiary NIDEC Corporation. We developed two series
of new models to enrich our product line and will start sales after
August 2003, in order to react to customers' request in the field
of motor and control industry. |

A new model of shaft encoder is with 18mm diameter & 15.5mm length
which is as much as 15% smaller than conventional model. This compact
encoder is suitable for semiconductor manufacturing equipments,
circuit board assembly equipments, industrial robots, medical equipments
and office equipments where limited installation space is available. |

Both models have maximum resolution at 200P/R which is the best
performance among compact encoders with A, B & Z signals, have higher
frequency response which can trace up to 6,000rpm, and have higher
working temperature condition up to 85 degree C. |

|
Another new model of modular encoder is with 18mm diameter & 15mm length
which is the smallest size of this industry. This encoder is only designed
to fit to DC motor, but also fits to semiconductor manufacturing equipments,
medical equipments or office equipments which have limited mounting
space. |

In spite of modular type encoder, mounting jig is not needed when it
is installed to DC motor. Wider tolerance of installation in radial/thrust
ways of the encoder offers easier installation. As it is modular type,
longer life of mechanical components is achieved. Higher revolution speed
as much as 18,000rpm(100P/R) is achieved either. |

We are expecting 20,000 pieces & 30 million JPY sales in the first
year, and additional sales due to synergistic effect with other
current models. |

as our current model like OVW2 series with 38mm diameter. |
